Frequently Asked Questions

What does PlateIQ do?

PlateIQ lets you take or upload a meal photo, receive estimated calories and macros, and get a simple suggestion to improve the meal based on your goals and nutrition style.

Are the nutrition results exact?

No. PlateIQ provides estimates, not exact measurements. Results can vary based on image quality, portion size, hidden ingredients, sauces, and preparation method.

How do I analyze a meal?

Open PlateIQ, tap Analyze a Meal, take or upload a photo, and confirm the analysis. The app will estimate the meal and save the result to your meal history.

What if the AI misses something?

Use Add Missing Item to enter a side, drink, sauce, or ingredient. PlateIQ updates the current analysis so your meal history stays in one clean entry.

What is the PlateIQ Score?

The PlateIQ Score is a simple 0 to 100 guide that summarizes the estimated balance of the meal. It is meant to be helpful and non-judgmental, not a medical rating.

Where are my meal photos stored?

Meal photos you choose to analyze may be uploaded to Supabase Storage so PlateIQ can display your meal history and send the image for AI analysis.

Can I delete a meal?

Yes. Open your meal history, select a meal, and use Delete. The app removes the meal entry and attempts to remove the associated uploaded image.

How do I delete my account?

In PlateIQ, open the profile menu, select Profile & Goals, then choose Delete Account. This permanently deletes your PlateIQ account and associated app data.

Is PlateIQ medical advice?

No. PlateIQ is for general wellness and food awareness. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for a qualified health professional.

Troubleshooting

My image is not showing in history.

Check your connection and reopen the app. If the issue continues, contact support with the meal date and a short description so we can investigate.

The AI analysis failed.

This can happen if the network is unavailable, the image is hard to read, or the AI service is temporarily unavailable. Try again with a clear photo and stable connection.
